HOW TO USE GOOGLE DRIVE

BASIC INTRODUCTION

Google drive is an online storing place that is used to store different types of files, such as (Data files, Images, Software, Audio and Video files). Google drive associated with a Gmail account and every Gmail account provides 15 GB storing space (without any cost) and it can be extended up to 100 GB by $1.99 per month cost.


HOW TO OPEN GOOGLE DRIVE

You can use google drive to store space by any existing Gmail account, by just follow these steps.

1. Open the "https://www.google.com/drive"

2. Click on "Go to Google Drive" button.

3. Now Login in with your Gmail account and password.


UPLOAD FILES IN GOOGLE

Files uploading is the main task in every google drive account and its very easy, even you can drag and drop any file, directly to your google drive.


Note: By default, google drive provide "My Drive" as the main directory (folder) and we can also create further more new sub-directories (folders) by "New" button and can upload different types of files.

Let's create a new folder and upload a file.

1. Login to google drive.

2. Click on "New" button.

3. Click on "Folder" and create a new folder With the name of "My Files"

4. Open the "My Files" folder by simply double-click on it.

5. Now directly drag your file or Click on "New -> File Upload"

SHAREABLE LINKS IN GOOGLE DRIVE

Shareable links are very important to transfer a heavy size file over the remote connection (internet) because email support only 25 MB max. size as an attachment, so we can send a 500 MB video by email (as an attachment). Here google drive shareable links are the most prominent solution for it.


Now suppose that you want to send a 500MB file by email. So it is not directly possible because an email attachment file's maximum capacity is 25MB. But we can do this with the help of google drive's shareable links.

Follow the below steps:

1. First, upload the file to google drive.

2. After upload, Select the file.

3. Click on sharing button.

4. Click on "Sharing Settings" link.

5. Now click on "Copy link" and paste it anywhere like in email outbox, facebook, twitter, etc.

You can also directly enter the email IDs in "People" text box and directly send the selected link to selected people email IDs.


UPGRADE STORAGE

As we know, by default every Gmail account provide 15GB free storing space in Google drive and it can be extended Up to 100GB  and 1TB, by paying some additional price.


STEPS TO UPGRADE GOOGLE DRIVE STORAGE

1. Login to google drive.

2. Click on "Upgrade Storage" link.

4. Make payment by Debit/Credit card.
